Aw jeez it's been a month already...
Seperating devices by function
Finding time and energy to do the things you set out to do in your free time can be exhausting and frustrating. After a full day of word I often end up being too tired to think about the stuff supposedly "like" doing.
However, after reading this blog on to-do and suspense lists by Pluralistic I figured I should write stuff down in a seperate place. Seperate my "productive" hobbies from the passive ones. So I decided to use a spare computer I had lying around for writing and organising. And to my surprise I found myself getting back to it a lot more often than I would otherwise. The act of purposefully grabbing and turning the laptop on somehow locking me in more than opening the same file on my deskop.
Combining this with making lists of my personal priorities makes it easier for me to look at different things I could be doing. And pick something that feels right for the amount of energy I have. This way of working makes me feel good about doing at least "something" where I would otherwise mindlessly watch Youtube.
My personal goals for continuing this habit is to expand my own notes. Perhaps start using Obsidian or something similar.
